Dear seeker,
Mat 6:10
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
Luk 11:2
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Jesus said to pray that the Father's will be done.
Mat 26:39
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt].
Mat 26:42
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
He asked the Father if it is possible, not to go to the cross, but he choose to do whatever the God wanted him to do. Jesus was completely obedient to the will of God.
Jhn 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Asking in his name is also asking according to the will of the Father.
Jam 4:3
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.
If you don't get something, it may very well mean that you asked for something with the wrong intentions. The way to have answered prayer is to ask for those things in accordance with God's will. Jesus did what pleased God, even when it was difficult. The way we determine what God wants to do is to read what God has to say and to pray. Over time prayer and the bread of life strengthens us, so we can know what Jesus would do.
2Cr 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
We are ambassadors of Christ, so our actions are in accordance with Christ. Jesus Christ always pleased God the Father. Jesus was one with the Father. If you are on the same page with God, you have a lot of power, but the power is God's power. Ambassadors aren't out doing their own thing, but representing the power behind them.
Phl 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.
2Th 1:11,12
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mountains will surely be moved, but not out of whim. We are here to do what pleases God. We don't dictate to God, nor is God subject to us. We do what we do to please God, and to glorify God.
Blessings,
theophilos
